The gift of empathy
I was literally going to explode yesterday but I was saved by empathy. I was so frustrated with life and so angry that anything and everything was pushing my buttons. I didn't need a hug,a kiss, money, or advice. I needed someone to care and understand what I was going through. My distress when from a ten to a one in less than 15 minutes. I am so grateful that there are empathetic people, trained counsellors, and trained crisis intervention volunteers out there to help people when they are having a crisis. It's the gift of being heard, understood, unjudged with compassion. Having a compassionate human that can really put themselves in your shoes at the end of the day is priceless. To me that is true love from another human.
